How I spent 4th of July.

Yesterday was Independence Day in America and I'm happy to say I had a pretty awesome time. The 4th of July is one of my favorite holidays (the other being Halloween) and I rarely get to celebrate it to the fullest sadly. However, this year was a success. I know I had a good 4th of July when it was a day full of fireworks. I LOVE fireworks. A lot. A lot, a lot.
My town has firework shows sometimes, and it's not common for it to land on the 4th because they prefer to do it on the weekends. This year they decided to do it on the 4th. So, Dayna and I prepared to go. I dyed my hair to feel like a mermaid and headed out at 8 o'clock. I hadn't been to the showing this close since I was a kid. I was a baseball field away from where they were lighting them off! The grand finale filled my entire vision. It was amazing. My 4th of July was complete.

After the fireworks show I visited my friend's house to hang out and ate some food. We lit off some more fireworks from our compiled arsenal. Our homemade fireworks show featured strobes, spinners, bottle rockets, reporting tanks, and sparklers. We all went home pretty early because everyone else had work in the morning. I went home and went to work at my job ;)

Still a little girl wishing to be a mermaid.

Well, I went along with my plans to try some different coloring with my hair. I'm pretty satisfied with the results! Although, I definitely need to reapply some purple to the spots I missed. Today I braided my hair in a fishtail braid, pinned it to the side, and added a bow. The dyes I used were SFX Atomic Pink, Wild Flower, and a little Fish Bowl. These are my favorite dyes/colors hands down! I wish my hair grew out of my head this color.

Feelings, oh boy feelings.

Alright! So! Prise is fully paid for, done and done, however her status has not changed to "shipped" just yet. I'm ok, just breathe. Maybe I should check it again? Nope, still the same. Drat.

Anyway, recently I have been feeling better, a lot better. I'm still working at a couple of things, and a few of them are short term, and some long term. When will I be completely happy? Not sure as of yet, but I hope it's sooner rather than later. Things that have helped turn my mood around; music, friends(including doll community), hiking, writing, being on my own (though at times painful), anime & cosplay vidoes (yes), and...

I really do feel more like myself. I'm still getting used to it because I haven't had my hair like this in a while (3 years). I also still have to work on it. Hopefully the end result will be close to platinum blonde, so I can get it to a really light baby pink.

I also did finish up a big commission that was so relieving to complete.

Tonight I'm going to watch my aunt perform some music, and this weekend I will be going to the Catskills with the family to celebrate the end of the Summer, technically. Horseback riding and hiking, yes please! Then next week I start classes again. I hope to get most dolls done before school gets too hectic. I also really want to learn how to space out my time correctly.

Yesterday I went on another hike, and this time it really kicked my ass. A lot of up hill, and I wasn't prepared. Haha. I really want to keep doing things like that though. The urge to get better, to be stronger is really building. So no matter how crappy I feel going up those hills, and how much I want to die and never walk up another hill again, when I'm sitting at home thinking back to what I did, I just want to do more. My friend and I are planning to head to a harder trail as soon as we can.

Prise is ready for home!

I just made the final payment for Prise, my Supia Hael. She will be my first Supia doll and I'm very excited. Their work is gorgeous. I have her eyes, but not a wig. I do have her face-up style in my mind, but not one article of clothing for her. I must look around. I'm so excited for her to come home. Amalgam is as well. Oh the photo ideas I have!

Also I'm ready to head over to my local Sally's and get some bleach. I'm pretty sure I want to do this!

Lets hold it together.

Winds are picking up as I type this, and to say I'm not worried would be a lie. I think it's all the talk and extent of preparation people are doing that is causing the ill feelings. However, I am gloriously happy to say I finished a commission (4 dolls) right in time for the rain to start too. So things with me are feeling definitely feeling a bit better, and especially now that I actually finished a job.

House is shaking a teeny bit now. Not sure of when this lady will be at her worst, but I'm wondering if and when I should shutdown my computer. A nasty surge could ruin my poor Mr. Computer. I have enough to keep me occupied if I do. Knitting, drawing, reading, and folding little origami stars.

So yes, we're all shacked up here, on our little peninsula town across from NYC, with my family and my brother's "refugee" friend (he needed to evacuate his house). Trying to keep safe. Hoping my giant, beautiful trees in front of my house stand strong and don't break my house.

Lastly, I tend to always make my final decisions about doing something when I'm unable to follow through with them. Like for instance now, I am 100% decided on going back to having pink hair. Can I do anything about it now? Nnnnope! Lets hope I can on Monday though!

Busy Saturday.

My parents are sanding and painting the wooden floors downstairs. It sucks not being able to walk through your house. It should look nice when it's done though.

I was doing my friend's hair this afternoon for a wedding she was attending. We did a practice run the week before and it came out ok but could of been better. I'm glad I did practice, because today, the day of the wedding, it came out way better than I hoped. I had to take photos before she left. Number one thing you need when doing victory rolls is a good curling iron. It helps a whole ton. My friend has thick, dense, straight, smooth hair (a nightmare to sculpt basically). So, the way it turned out was a great surprise!

Taking it back to the early 2000s!

I was feeling nostalgic thinking back to how I used to obsess over making my own websites over the summer. There was a particular style bac...
