Satisfaction Sunday #4

When looking through custom decoden photos I was not expecting to find something Doctor Who related. I think this is so smart and adorable!

If there's any company who makes outfits close enough to my Amalgam's style it's SoulDoll. They're outfits are amazing and extravagant.

SWITCH sculpts are one of my favorites. I would love to have any of them. This one in particular is so lovely.

(via SWITCH)

SDink does exquisite faceups and has the best doll collection! I'm so in love with the colors and gradients in this photo.

I love cowboy boots, so when I saw these I wanted them immediately for my dolls.

At first sight this doll made me think, young Professor Snape. He'd be perfect for it! Anyone else think so? Anyone else have him already as a young Snape? ^_^

This simple dress is versatile and gorgeous. I love the color.

Yesterday I saw The Dark Knight Rises and had lots of fun with friends. I really liked it and would watch it again. It led to a comic/movie/superhero argument/debate until 4am this morning between all of us (including my brother). It was quite entertaining to say the least. If you'd like a little a view into the "debate", ask yourself this, Who would win? Batman or Iron Man?

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday and a great week!

What I've been doing.

What a long hiatus from blogging, eh? I've been up to stuff. Some adventurous, some not so much. Today however was a random adventurous day I suppose. I woke up way too early to go hiking so that I could be back in time to head to the Museum of Natural History with my brother. We got there a tad bit late, but I did manage to see my favorite dinosaur - STEGOSAURUS! I hadn't been to that museum in so long it felt like I'd never seen any of these dinosaur bones, fossils, and such. I have to go back very soon so I can see everything. We got there kind of late and it was pretty busy with all tons of people. I'm rather tired now, but I still have work to do. Doll work! Speaking of which, I will be reopening commissions full-time I believe tomorrow. Classes are ending and I'm lucky enough to have no finals at all. None what-so-ever! Awesome.

I've finally been able to sit down and start Doctor Who, and I'm more than addicted. I've been wanting to see what all the fuss was about for a while and just have never been able to collect myself and watch. The 9th-11th Doctor series was just recently put on Netflix so I think that helped. I remember sometime after getting back from PAX last year I watched part of an episode and did not go farther than that. It was one with David Tennant as the Doctor, and a person was eating people... Yeah pretty vague. It was just a random choice as well as a "part 2", so I stopped it because I had no clue what I missed or what was going on. Now that I have better footing I'm charging through these episodes. Was a little disappointed that Christopher Eccleston's time was so short, but I knew that he decided to leave. Getting used to David now, which is weird I thought I'd like him the most! Ah, well.

Horses, Neverland, and Bowie.

This weekend was rather interesting even though I just did normal everyday things. See, life does seem better when you focus on the positive. Haha, ok guru mode over.

One thing I am proud to say is that commissions are finally moving along and getting done. I could not be happier. I recently finished Pyrope's girls, and I am not working on Karleecakes and Gloria's commission. Pyrope had me do a very unique theme for her Minifee Ryeon that I was delighted to be asked to do. I mean how can you deny anything Bowie? I'm glad Pyrope was happy with the results.

This past Sunday I introduced my friend to volunteering at the horse retirement. I recently learned that she likes horses as well, and would like to volunteer too! I couldn't be more excited because now I have someone to go with, and she has a car so we can go without having to worry about getting my parents truck. We are going to go riding next weekend. I haven't been on a horse since I was about 16, so I can't wait.

Did anyone else catch Neverland on Syfy last night? Wasn't it pretty good? It's a two part prequel series about how Neverland and the whole relationship amongst the character developed into the story we all know. I was surprised when Bob Hoskins appeared as Smee! It was perfect! (Hook 1991 revisited). To top it off I had a crush on Charles Dance when I was a little girl and Last Action Hero came out, and Rhys Ifans is quite handsome as well. ♥ So it made it even better. The story is good too. ^_~

Friday night = pajamas and doll work.

It feels really great to be so close to getting more dolls on their way home to their owners. I'm currently working on 6 heads and 1 body at a time now, so whichever I finish usually depends on how smoothly everything goes. Charloutte, who has been waiting the longest (Early June), was my main priority. I finally got this little one completed. She's on her way home!

Right now I'm working on Pyrope's and Gloria's. I'm going to dedicate this entire weekend to Karleecakes, and I hope I do a good job. I will be airbrushing everything (body work). I'm looking forward to it!

I've been thinking about consolidating everything into one page, all on this blog. Literally, everything. I think it will be easier for people to know what's going on with Meggilu. I will be working on changing everything when winter break comes along, as well as add more slots for commissions!

This past Wednesday night I went to go see Breaking Dawn pt. 1. It's a yearly birthday present to myself being that a new movie comes out every November. The Twilight movies are the best because they make you roll your eyes until they hurt, but you strangely enjoy the absurdity of it all. Can't wait for part 2. Book 4 was not my favorite, at all, like my least favorite book I ever read, but I like the characters. So, it's this strange love/hate thing. The movies of Breaking Dawn make the story a little bit better just because of the visuals. I think part 2 will be pretty good because of that fact.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I started the Couch to 5K training. I'm on Week 2/Day 2. Day 3 is tomorrow. I'm feeling good about this.

I can't stop watching..

Tangled. Yep, that's right, the Disney movie. I saw it was on Netflix this passed weekend and decided to finally watch it. I heard it was pretty good. And you know what, it was! Now I find myself watching it over and over as if I were a 5 year old. I don't know what it is about the movie, but it makes me feel like I'm being pacified, or something. I think they know too much at Disney! There is some kind of strange, subliminal thing going on here! If you haven't seen it yet it's still on Netflix instant watch! My favorite quote - "You broke my smolder.."

In other news, my professor is, well.... a complete dream boat. When I researched the professor before selecting his class, and saw that he was funny, nice, and marked as "hot" on ratemyprofessor.com, I registered for the class saying, "I'm going to regret this.." Nothing is harder than trying to focus on what he is saying and remembering to breathing normally at the same time! Every one of my movements are monitored! Don't want to look like an idiot... Oh good grief...

Pre-Calculus class tomorrow. I'm excited!

In a Hallow mood.

Lately I've been feeling extremely Halloweeny. I mean, of course I wish everyday could be Halloween, but for some reason the desire has increased. It must of come on with the vampire Ante I made-up this week. I cannot wait for the actual day to come! For now I am formulating a spooky camping trip with my friends; complete with ouija board, midnight walks, and horror movies (we stay in a camper, double spooky!!).

Hurray for Halloween in July! Here are some things I found that might help you get into a haunted mood.
1. Adorable pumpkin nighttime display! (blogged by halloweenhaunt.)
2. This awesome illustration definitely has a Dracula feel. (by oldcarguy41.)
3. Never leave home with out it! (by EclecticOutlet.)
4. I thought this ring was so amazing! (by BloodMilk.)
5. A dream lawn for decorating. (blogged by halloweenhaunt.)
6. The ghoulest socks around!! (sorry I had to).
7. I would buy millions and make a wicked bead curtain! (by pinkee.)
8. I love the vintage looking witch and black cat! (by GoldieLooWoodworks.)
9. I don't know about you, but I usually like to associate Harry Potter with Halloween as well. Today is the launch of Pottermore and "The Magical Quill" celebration. Try to get your entry to Pottermore early!

What are some of your favorite things about Halloween? Or, do you loathe it?

The Tale of the Dizzy Idiot.

It's a crappy day out but screw it! I'm doing commissions! I have vertigo again for the second time, but screw that too! Haha. I have to go to the doctor. I think there is something up with my ear, and it's causing me to be more prone to vertigo.

Does anyone remember Are You Afraid of the Dark or SNICK even? My friends and I are big fans of Nickelodeon of the late 80s early 90s (our childhoods basically) and constantly feel the nostalgia. They have some episodes on Youtube, and we were watching "The Tale of the Midnight Ride" last night. That show was so awesome. We were really lucky to grow up watching it.

Here are some of my favorite episodes;

Feeling like a kid 24/7.

Welp, I just finished all of H2O: Just Add Water. A sense of sadness has come over me. Haha. Where was this show when I was younger? When I was a kid I was an extreme water-baby, and dreamed of being a mermaid. That was a time when flopping around with a homemade mermaid tail was acceptable. Would you judge me if I tell you I've been wanting to buy a monofin for creating a mermaid tail. Haha!

If you walked in my room right now without knowing me, you'd expect it to belong to a 13yo girl. I swear, I think I'll have the delusion of being a kid forever. That's not a bad thing, right? Last night, I had the urge to look up tamagotchi's and this casio diary I had when I was younger. I found them on ebay and I wanted to buy them badly. I was so thrilled, but so poor. This just made my wanting to be a toy designer grow three fold!

Not to mention, whilst looking at mermaid tail videos I found this channel that a group of little girls created where they film their own mermaid series. How unbelievably adorable is that? If only I had a camera and good friends at that age. Check them out, it's really cute. Secret Life of a Mermaid

Lastly, I completed some more commissions!

Ne, Nana..

I finished watching Nana 2. I was built up to think something extraordinary was going to happen, to then just be let down. It was still ok, I still liked it, but the ending was less than I expected. I still love both the characters. The first one was better and my favorite definitely. <3 I hope to read the manga too.

Today I got a final grade of 109 in World Art, haha. Kitchen is almost finished, and I don't have classes tomorrow. Yay for good news!

Hallow Halloween.

I'm not sure how this Halloween will go, but I do not accept not doing anything. That just can't happen. I couldn't figure out what to be until last week. I don't know how that will go either. I am going to be Shoshanna Dreyfus from Inglourious Basterds. Yep. I'm going to try to get it as close as humanly possible to her movie premiere outfit. I am also contemplating adding gun shots to the dress. I also just purchased this;

It's not exact but it will do. I hope it comes in time. I will wear it either way. Haha. This reminds me of 2 Halloweens ago when I ordered my Hogwarts uniform at the last minute too. I received the wrong size, but got the right size sent to me just in time. It was great. Keeping fingers crossed.

Working hard..

I want to strive to be the BEST FACE UP ARTIST IN THE WORLD!! Yeah right (-_- 0). I am working hard though, but I can barely call it work. I love it so much! I always want to do my best for my clients too. It brings me joy, haha.

I got my compressor on Saturday and tried my airbrush out. It was quite funny. I pushed down on the trigger and was directing the air towards the cheek of my AE Mu. I slowly pulled back to release some paint...."Where is it?" (o.o ) I pulled back a little more...."I think I see some color...?" (- ~ -)  "Ah! There it is....hey that's not where I wanted it..." (õ Δ õ )/ . "Ok let's try to get just the tear duct....AAGH!"

So spraying far away and coating the entire doll is easy (thank goodness), and doing face up details will need more practice. Fine lines? Forget about it. Haha!

I leave you with some Mameshiba (豆しば)!

Workin' like a dog, a sick dog.

Ok I just braved it and ate some apple jacks with whole milk. I think I shouldn't have. My stomach is a little upset.
Anyway, remember when I made that vegan pledge. Lol. I posted my weight and it was 247. From not having anything to really eat and then becoming sick and not eating anything I weighed myself on Saturday and I was 241. Not good. I have to figure out a way to get myself back into eating and healthily. I heard when your body thinks you are in a famine when you eat it automatically stores the calories for energy, fat. So I think whole milk with cereal was a real bad choice. I'm trying to be vegetarian still but this sickness took a toll on me so I'm going to eat what I can but more sensibly. Ugh I slept like a whole day in my bed and my sacrum didn't like that at all. Back almost went out. It was a nightmare. Got to keep in motion so it really doesn't. Sitting on the floor doesn't help. Ok ok ok.

Got back to commissions. Weather was much easier to deal with. I was getting so frustrated. It would be breezy and yet the MSC would speckle all white. ANNOYING! So I'm painting 5 dolls at once now trying to get them finished. I need to get those eyelashes in so I can get them in their heads!! Ah!! A bit backed up, a bit.

Also I'm searching to get my own website. Really excited about that. We will see though.

Taking it back to the early 2000s!

I was feeling nostalgic thinking back to how I used to obsess over making my own websites over the summer. There was a particular style bac...
