Hello sculpting world, I'm Megan.

I'm about to head out (i say that a lot) to go get some sculpting tools and have lunch with friends. I've really wanted to be able to sculpt but have been too afraid of it. It needs quite a lot of supplies and strange things I do not know of...I think? That's how little I know about it, but I admire it so. So I though, why the hell not start. The Milliput for the Gaga MNM came also. I have to start sanding down her weird brow bone.

I'm allowed to go hang out and do nothing much important because Spring break has officially started and I have finished a commission for the day. Behold!

Itching to travel abroad.

Hey guys, guess what. I found Amelia Earhart, she teaches World Art I at my University. I meet her every Monday at 1pm. Lol. Seriously though, NJCU has some really special professors that you wouldn't even expect coming from such an regular ol' school. So I found new respect for my school and it really changes my mind when I think about transferring to another school because it's more "prestigious". So, my World Art I teacher is well over 50 and can write in ancient Egyptian alphabet. She has gone to Egypt every 2 years since she was younger and I'm just so utterly impressed by her! I myself have a special place in my heart for ancient Egypt, so I was enthralled with the stories she had told this past Monday. It really made me think about all the places I want to visit. Egypt, India, England, France, Japan, Mexico, Vietnam, Guatemala. The list is endless really!

I recently finished 2 dolls for CathyM. She had sent me another Volks mold I did not know about, and I'm really loving her! It's a Volks Mihmi. It made me think about the list of things I MUST do when I finally get to Japan. Those things are;

1. FCS Volks!
2. Get deco nail manicure.
3. Eat Sushi
4. Sanrio Puroland
5. Joypolis

Typing this I have also come to realize that life is not long enough.
Do I really have to die one day? It feels like I don't have to.

As I'm understanding how Volks works a little bit more and more everyday I'm becoming more obsessed. I came across this one mold a while ago and fell in love. I don't know what it was, but it's so unique and adorable. That mold is the Volks F-26. Now with previous years I did not understand how to get a Volks doll from Volks. Like, not at all. I thought that every mold that wasn't on the website was limited and only sold once at a Dolpa in Japan. Man, I'm dumb. Now that I know I can do the FCS (full choice system) in either LA or Japan and can actually get my own F-26 I'm totally excited. Now I have even more reason to save up and visit Japan. Hopefully they let foreigners in....I think they do. I have my membership card! (; ^_^) I've also wanted the Volks F-16 for a while now too, even longer than the F-26. I find that face very handsome and you can see it somewhat replicated in the Kaelin and School A molds, which are ones I also want. This is totally one of those incoherent rants without direction or much purpose, run-on sentences and all. Well I got a lot of commissions to do before school starts again. So let's stop yammerin'.

P.S. The wrong Mihael is on his way to Leeke. I hope to get my correct one back soon!

I caught the Volks bug!

I never really understood Dollpa's or limited lottery items or even how the heck to order a Volks doll. I just looked, saw it was a bit more complicated than other doll companies, and gave up. I would see Volks on the marketplace being priced so high, and I thought, they must only be sold in Japan at Japanese Dollpa's or something! (Durrr). Recently, I started to fall in love, and actually pay attention to how much I liked certain molds. Could I tell you the names right now without looking? Of course not! But I still do love them! Volks' sculpts are so easy to face up, and paint on too. So anyway, I suddenly got the urge to figure this Volks stuff out, especially since I missed the one in NYC. I took a trip to the News/Events thread in DoA and saw all these people winning the lottery items for a Dollpa in Osaka. Call me dumb, but I was like "whaa they don't live in Osaka?!" I get it now! OH GOOD GRIEF I GET IT NOW! I think it is bad that I did because I'm aching. Look at this!

Will I be ready for the next one!? At $900 + I don't think so. I am trying to save up for my flights to Japan next year (crosses fingers). BUT! I will be in Osaka! (^_ ~ )v

FFXIV beta selected and didn't even get to play.

I was happy to be able to do a faceup on a Volks Genji. Volks' molds are very smooth and rounded so it makes for very smooth paint strokes. It makes the whole process less stressful. I would recommend practicing on a Souldoll or Doll of Dream. Now they are difficult to work with, it's like a runner wearing weights on their ankles. Haha, moving on....

In other news, I was selected to test FFXIV beta before it was available to the whole world. Exciting right! Oh you know I was. Well, looks like I wasn't so lucky to be one of the people experiencing the "black screen of death" after trying to run the file that OPENS THE DOWNLOAD! Yes I am not having trouble with the game, BECAUSE I HAVEN'T EVEN GOTTEN THAT FAR! The exe file that you download to open and it download the game (I do not know why they do this) won't even open properly. No one can figure it out and the testing time has come on gone. Hopefully I can get something by the next testing time on Saturday. Rant over.
